Medieval Remedy Could Put an End to Hospital Superbug MRSA

Video - UK Scientists successfully recreated and used a thousand-year-old Anglo Saxon remedy to kill hospital superbug MRSA.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, otherwise known as the superbug MRSA, is a bacteria resistant to many antibiotics. It can cause skin infections and more severe problems, such as bloodstream infections and pneumonia, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to New Scientist, researchers from the University of Nottingham used a thousand-year-old remedy for eye infections to tackle MRSA. The remedy included garlic, leek, English wine, cow bile and ‘brass vessels’, which scientists replaced with brass sheets as they are easier to sterilize. The potion was tested on scraps of mice skin infected with MRSA, killing 90 percent of the bacteria. See the report below.
