This is the world, country, and trendy, modern times we live in.

A 26-year-old nurse in Brooklyn has been granted the ability to serve her estranged husband with divorce papers over the social media platform Facebook.

Via Daily News:

Baidoo, 26, “is granted permission serve defendant with the divorce summons using a private message through Facebook,” with her lawyer messaging Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku through her account, Cooper wrote.

“This transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiff’s attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged” by her hard-to-find hubby.

“I think it’s new law, and it’s necessary,” said Baidoo’s lawyer, Andrew Spinnell.

While the case itself appears to be extreme, with the plaintiff having to hire a private detective to try and find her elusive soon-to-be ex because he has no records with the DMV, no address attached to his prepaid cell phone, and he vacated the last address she knew back in 2011, this is definitely setting an absurd precedent that will further whittle down what marriage is and means.

Pretty soon, people will likely be getting married on Facebook as well. In fact, in our trendy future, people will probably live their entire adult lives on social media platforms and never even have to leave their houses.

  • This is a completely stupid idea because ‘service’ cannot be established nor proven. Another activist judge having lost his way.
