Why is the US military making fake social media accounts?
An ethical person – like a politician, banker or lawyer – may know right from wrong, but unlike a politician, a moral person lives it. “Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. An insidious practice
The US military has been given software which can create fake online social media personas.
These accounts are used to “create false consensus in online conversations, crowd out unwelcome opinions and other commentaries or reports that do not correspond with its own objective”.
They may not be controlling the internet directly, but such covert manipulation of online conversations is just as destructive, and worlds more deceitful.
