(Before It's News)

It seems that the police are almost always challenged when they kill someone, especially in the past year. Cases are microscopically scrutinized by the press and watchdog groups, as they should be. Life is sacred and any incident where an officer of the law takes one, should be scrutinized in order to ensure that they do not over-step their bounds.

On May 3, 2015, one Garland traffic officer killed two black men, and instead of marching and protests there will only be praise and gratitude. The un-named officer saved many lives. That Sunday evening at the Curtis Culwell Center, where an event exhibiting highly controversial cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed was being held, two muslim men got out of a black sedan and started shooting. Fortunately before they could actually kill anyone, one officer who was working overtime to provide security for the event, shot and killed both men. These were active shooters who were intent on killing; and they had assault rifles with high-capacity magazines. Because of the one hero officer and his department issued .45 caliber Glock, not a single innocent life was lost.

The two gunmen were 30-year-old Elton Simpson and 34-year-old Nadir Hamid Soofi, both devout Muslims from Phoenix, Arizona. A recent tweet from Simpson said “May Allah accept us as mujahideen,” which essentially means: may God accept us as his holy warriors. Sounds like these two men were just a couple of horny guys looking go to paradise and get their 72 virgins each, which is the traditional reward for mujahideen who die for Allah. Considering how quickly they were taken down, it is doubtful that they could be considered any kind of warrior, let alone holy warriors. Having a gun does not make one a warrior, especially when the mission is to kill non-combatants.

We should all be thankful for officers like the un-named Garland hero, who put their life on the line so that the rest of us can feel some semblance of safety as we go about our lives. For more information about this incident go to:
