(Before It's News)

~~“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables,” II Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV). We are living in exactly these times that are spoken of.  It’s hard to find a church fellowship anymore that teaches the whole counsel of God instead of a watered down compromised gospel. I talk to people all the time who are unable to find a church where they live that hasn’t been compromised in one way or another.
Though it’s sad, it’s hardly surprising because the word of God warns us about what it will be like in the end times. II Thessalonians 2-11-12 tells us, “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” (KJV).

If you do a word study of apostate you will find that it means to abandon, backslide, be a deserter, traitor or dissenter. We see this time and time again as churches are evolving on gay marriage and other issues. In essence today’s church has grown soft on sin and the few who stand for righteousness are considered to be bigots or hateful. Those who truly follow Jesus are now labeled as terrorists.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:12 (KJV), “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” He isn’t talking about the world in this passage. He’s talking about those who profess to be Christians and it is evident in today’s church.  If you find yourself in this place I pray that you will turn back to your first love (Revelation 2:4). There is no room for those who straddle the fence or try to play for both teams in God’s kingdom. Jesus lets us know in Revelation 3:16 what will become of those who are lukewarm, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth,” (KJV).
