Shocker: TSA Failed 95 Percent of Undercover Breach Tests
An internal investigation of the Tyrannical Sexual Assaulters, er…I mean, the Transportation Security Administration, revealed some absolutely shocking information:
TSA agents are largely incompetent.
ABC News reported the exclusive story this morning. Here’s an excerpt from their coverage – emphasis mine.
An internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration revealed security failures at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials.
The series of tests were conducted by Homeland Security Red Teams who pose as passengers, setting out to beat the system.
According to officials briefed on the results of a recent Homeland Security Inspector General’s report, TSA agents failed 67 out of 70 tests, with Red Team members repeatedly able to get potential weapons through checkpoints.
In one test an undercover agent was stopped after setting off an alarm at a magnetometer, but TSA screeners failed to detect a fake explosive device that was taped to his back during a follow-on pat down.
But is anyone really surprised?
It isn’t like this is the first time the Thieving Stealing Agitators have failed to detect fake terrorists and weapons. Red Teams have been investigating TSA checkpoints for 13 years, often times successfully getting weapons past airport screeners. In 2013, an undercover investigator with a fake bomb hidden on his body passed through a metal detector and went through a pat-down at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty Airport – and was never caught.
This time was different though. This time, TSA agents failed to detect almost every single test bomb and gun, aviation experts said.
How very comforting. It is nice knowing that every single day, thousands of innocent people get poked, pestered, and probed for no damn reason, isn’t it?
Maybe TSA screeners are missing real threats because they are too busy targeting attractive people for pat-downs, or are keeping a watchful eye out for suspicious behaviors like these apparent Signs You Might be a Terrorist:
- Exaggerated yawning
- Excessive complaining about the screening process
- Excessive throat clearing
- Widely open staring eyes
- Whistling
- Gazing down
Remember, this is a government agency that spent ONE BILLION dollars of taxpayer money on a pseudo-scientific, invasive, discriminatory, and ineffective screening program that has been proven time and again to be seriously flawed.
Oh, and recently the DHS inspector general’s office concluded a series of undercover tests targeting checked baggage screening at airports across the country.
Those findings weren’t comforting either:
That review found “vulnerabilities” throughout the system, attributing them to human error and technological failures, according to a three-paragraph summary of the review released in September.
In addition, the review determined that despite spending $540 million for checked baggage screening equipment and another $11 million for training since a previous review in 2009, the TSA failed to make any noticeable improvements in that time.
Can we shut the whole thing down and get refunds, please?
