In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the boycott, divestment and
sanctions movement, Adalah-NY is excited to release this video of our
recent flashmob protest, in which an anti-apartheid aerobics crew takes
over the aisles of Target to call for a boycott of SodaStream.

SodaStream presents itself as a healthy and “green” product, but as this BDS work-out works it out, SodaStream isn’t healthy because apartheid isn’t healthy! And while we celebrate that international condemnation has apparently pressured SodaStream to announce it will be moving all production out of the Israeli settlement Ma’aleh Adumim, we know that even if this move does happen SodaStream will continue to be complicit in apartheid. Its new factory in the Naqab (the Negev) benefits from the Israeli government’s forcible displacement of up to 70,000 Palestinian Bedouins and dispossession of their historic lands.

Through this creative action we reaffirm our commitment to heed the BDS call from Palestine, and invite all people of conscience to join this growing movement for justice. As our tireless anti-apartheid aerobics instructor reminds us, we are in this for the long haul!
