A 40-year-old man who was exonerated for a 1995 murder after serving 17 years in prison was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in Chicago while apparently attempting to rob another man.
Alprentiss Nash apparently tried to rob Paul Vukadinovic, 30, and was shot during an exchange of gunfire. Nash was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Despite authorities confirming the two men “had a long drug history,” the incident is still being investigated as a possible case of self-defense.
Nonetheless, Vukadinovic was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and carrying a loaded gun without a concealed carry permit.
