(Before It's News)

The NRA’s National Firearms Museum has a rare Civil War-era .44 caliber Pideault et Cadier double-action revolver as the centerpiece of their new exhibit of steampunk guns.

The Pideault, of which some 700 were purchased for the Union Army in the Civil War– reportedly President Lincoln was in tight with the company’s agent– is rarely seen and looks as if it could have been used by some 19th century gentleman adventurer bedecked with monocle and mustache.

Or experimental submarine going 20,000 leagues.
