NY Governor Calls for National Gun Control – Get Ready!
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo renewed his call for national gun control legislation on Saturday as he delivered a eulogy for the top state attorney who was fatally wounded by a stray bullet in Brooklyn earlier this month.
State officials and family members gathered at Brooklyn’s Emmanuel Baptist Church in a private service for Carey Gabay, 43, who was struck in the head at a pre-dawn outdoor celebration on Sept. 7 before the annual West Indian Day parade, an event plagued by violence in recent years.
Gabay is believed to have been an unintended target, police said.
“His death was one of the most tragic, pointless examples of the rampant violence that is spreading like a cancer through our society, especially in our poorer communities and especially in our communities of color,” Cuomo said.
After he was declared brain dead, Gabay was taken off a respirator at Kings County Hospital Center and pronounced dead on Sept. 16.
Cuomo referenced the mass shootings at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012 and at a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina in June as he said New York’s firearm restrictions are ineffective on their own.
“It’s not enough for New York State to pass a gun law and close the front door when the guns are coming in the back door, when the guns can come up from Virginia or South Carolina for anyone willing to take a car ride,” he said.

There is no logical argument against common sense gun control laws. People who think with their guns instead of their brains and the mighty NRA will always find a way to prevent America from joining other developed nations in lower homicide rates.
The link between Gun and Gun-related Homicide is obvious, like painfully obvious, but for some reason people reject both common sense and scientific evidence.

This isn’t rocket science, this is obvious. Where there are more tools for death there is more death. The NRA wants people to believe that guns are used millions of times a year to prevent crimes, but that information is based solely on a single publication from 1995. A publication that isn’t only 20 years old and irrelevant today, but one that scholars have picked apart as being wholly misleading.
Educate yourselves people and start using your brain when considering the topic. Or call me a libtard shill and continue ignoring blatant facts…Your choice.

WillieG51 I totally agree but I am going to try and be as nice as I can be to a man that should be lined up on a wall and shot for not just his treason, but more for his total disregard for those that fought and died so he and others could have the freedoms. His shame is so bad that he shows a total disrespect for all those that walk today and in the past with torn limbs, broken bodies and minds from protection of the freedoms he gets to enjoy at their expense, bet he never served and if he did he most likely only qualified for mail room duty. He should be forced to stand in the middle of a national cemetery, with the survivors of those that are buried there, and tell them that he believes the 2nd amendment and probably others as proven by his actions should be trashed. He is a disgrace to all the above, he is a disgrace to all of mankind, he is a coward, he is a liar as he took an oath to uphold the constitution, and he will be a thief if not already for the lives that will be lost because men will not be able to protect themselves and their families for the rights they were given by the lord God almighty, and the constitution if he gets his way.He is selfish, inconsiderate, and blind. His actions prove he is arrogant, and obnoxious, and I think he should be tried for crimes against the citizens for being a traitor found guilty horse whipped and shot on the spot after we poor vinegar and salt on his wounds to remind others what happens to weak cowardice traitors, I would be willing to pull the trigger or supply the rope upon his conviction. And prior to that, I hope one of the people of the state of New York would have the guts and courage to drag this scumbag out of his office by his ears, and take him to the woodshed and spank the living crap out of him. I agree totally with you.. But the “fought for our freedoms” part is total propaganda. That’s what the government wants you to believe. Truth is, wars are because of political reasons and/or oil. When the military, who is supposed to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC storms into D.C. and captures and imprisons all of the treasonous politicians then I will say they are fighting for our freedoms. Until then, according to Kissinger, troops are just fodder.

I am not yet done with this garbage, I think if your mother really loved mankind, she should have eaten you at birth as all good animals will do when they know the offspring is defective and more like a rat then its species. I don’t believe in birth control and or abortion, but I would make an exception in your mothers case if she had you aborted and used some form of birth control to prevent you. I think the best thing you can do is put yourself out of your misery, and shoot yourself or use an alternative method of suicide, but the gun would be best then and only then can you really judge if you like them and find them affective for great accomplishments. And while you would not be around to voice your option let the people do it for you. I think I am done being nice and will stop before I show that I can have an opposite side.

I live in NY and have to deal with extreme liberal policies and ideology on a daily basis. I voted against Cuomo and so did a lot of others, but it’s not enough. The power and control of New York City is more than the rest of the state can handle. Most rural New York state residents and some suburban residents do not support scumbag politicians like Cuomo. However, the libertards in NYC are too vast in numbers. They have made NY into a progressive / liberal / Democrat haven, having elected slimeballs like Cuomo and a hardcore communist like de Blasio (not even his real name). Too bad most conservatives already moved out of NY because they didn’t want to deal with the high taxes, anti-2nd amendment laws, and the rude, immoral, and Godless NYC population.

The Governor’s reasoning doesn’t make any sense.
First, the death was accidental, not intentional.
Second, the victim could have been killed by a drunk driver. Would he ban cars?
Third, the victim could have been killed by a brick dropped in the street below by an immigrant worker who wasn’t following safety laws. Would he ban bricks?
No. By all means prosecute the careless and the irresponsible. But don’t punish the rest of society for their acts, that’s just being vindictive.
I never would have believed before the attack on the world trade center on 9-11 that today we would be discussing abolishing our Bill of Rights and/or our Constitution for “new overlords” , never ever would think that could happen here in USA, never.

So why does any POS New Yorker get to hold sway over any national subject? This is bull **t. He has no standing nationally. For that matter, why does NY get some much press? What the heck makes NY soooo special? Nothing.
This man is a stooge of the (socialist) federal government. He was a major player in the events that lead up to the financial crisis of 2008, when he threatened banks with lawsuits if they did not make loans to poor people as HUD secretary under Bill Clinton. The liberal NY media withheld this critical info from the people of New York, which gave him entry to the governorship by riding on the reputation of his socialist father. As a federal stooge, he is carrying water for disarming the American people so that the Federal Government can have complete and absolute control over the American people (just like communist China where no one has the right to private property). A. Cuomo should have been tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail a long time ago.
It doesn’t matter what stinking laws these Nazi pass, they will never get our guns. The very fact is NYC pass a law requiring all firearms to be registered, if you don’t comply with this law it is a felony class C violation.
It turned out, that thousands of New Yorkers refuse to comply. So what are the political sell outs going to do? Nothing.
