Police say 15 to 20 people have been injured in a shooting at a college in the US state of Oregon.
Douglas County Police commissioner Chris Boice told Sky News the victims at Umpqua Community College included a female shot in the chest.
He confirmed a suspect was in custody, though it is unclear if the person detained is a student.
There are unconfirmed reports attributed to Oregon State Police of up to 15 people dead.
A fire official tweeted earlier: “Active shooter at UCC. Please stay away from the area”.
The college, which has about 3,000 students, is located in Roseburg, about 180 miles south of Portland.
