A remarkable martian artifact has been photographed on the red planet by the mars Curiosity Rover.

The artifact which resembles a large statue was photographed by the rover as it surveyed the rocky terrain around gale crater.

Sharp-eyed watchers claim to see a statue of Buddha on Mars — proof, they think, that life (and human religions) began in outer space.
