The woman, a resident of the complex, told police her son forced his way into her apartment, “… and she was defending herself and other family members from an assault being committed by her son,” police said in a statement.
Farmington Hills Police Chief Charles Nebus said the mother called 911 after the incident and has claimed self-defense.
