If anything watch-worthy came out of the Democratic debate, it was this moment where Sanders called out Hillary for her ties to Henry Kissinger.
“I find it rather amazing, as I happen to believe that Henry Kissinger was one of the most destructive Secretaries of State in the modern history of this country,” Sanders went off. “I am proud to say that Henry Kissinger is not my friend. I will not take advice from Henry Kissinger.”
The topic even drew a gasp of “Oh God” from one of the debate moderators (which she tried to cover by fake coughing), probably because they couldn’t believe he would bring that up in front of everybody on live TV.
Good.
Say what you want about his politics, but at least someone with a podium and mic is calling Hillary out of her crimes in this election. You can tell she’s pissed about it, too.
Again, good.
“Kissinger’s actions in Cambodia when the United States bombed that country… created the instability for Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge to come in, who then butchered some 3 million innocent people – one of the worst genocides in the history of the world. Count me in as somebody who will not be listening to Henry Kissinger.”
Then again, pretty much everyone in this race loves themselves some Kissinger. Those who don’t are the exception, not the rule.
