The Truth About Valentine’s Day

(Before It's News)

Indeed, nothing new is under the sun… (Ecclesiastes 1:9). In this video, I will be breaking down the history and origin of today’s so-called “Valentine’s Day,” and showing you how this traditional custom is nothing new: this was even celebrated in Ancient Traditions — only with a much more sinister purpose.

Known as the “Festival of Sexual License,” Lupercalia was a festival celebrated on February 15th — a festival in which the Romans honored and paid homage to Lupercus, the god of fertility and husbandry: protector of crops. They believed this god would protect Rome from wolves, as Lupercus was said to be a “mighty hunter.” During this time, the ancient Romans would participate in lust, adultery, fornication, illicit sex, and would also sacrifice goats and dogs as a way of conducting purification rites: hence the word “februa,” or “means of purification.” They also celebrated “Juno Februata” along with Lupercalia: who was the goddess of love.

Now it’s no coincidence that this ancient traditional festival mimics that of Nimrod/Mystery Babylonian religion. In fact, the word “Valentine” derives from the Latin “Valentinus,” or “valens,” which means “to be strong, powerful, mighty.” And, as Genesis 10:8-9 tell us, Nimrod was also a “mighty hunter” — and even hunted with a bow and arrow; just like Cupid. Not to mention Lupercus the Roman deity stemming from Baal, a deity in which the Phoenicians worshipped — the sun-god. In the ancient Chaldean language, the word “heart” actually meant “bal,” which is similar to Baal.

In order to “Christianize” this tradition and keep this pagan festival alive, Pope Gelasius renamed the Festival of Lupercalia to Saint Valentine’s Day and changed the date from February 15th to February 14th in 496 AD. This “holiday” became an annual tradition, and has since been commercialized into what we know today as “Valentine’s Day.”

As you can see, this has almost NOTHING to do with just love and candy — but EVERYTHING to do with pagan origins and traditions: as do all the other “holidays and traditions.”

“Thus saith YAHUAH, Learn NOT the way of the heathen, and be NOT dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the CUSTOMS of the people ARE VAIN…” ~ Jeremiah 10:2

“But IN VAIN do they worship me, teaching the doctrines the commandments of men.” ~ Matthew 15:9

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, that ye be NOT partakers of her sins, and that ye receive NOT of her plagues. For her sins hath reached unto heaven, and YAH hath remembered her iniquities…” ~ Revelation 18:4-5
