Copblock Radio EP 120 “Uncovering the Myths”

This week on Copblock Radio our hosts were myself (Severin Freeman) from Lehigh Valley Copblock, Matt Taylor of Carbon County Copblock, and Brian Sumner of Fresno Copblock. Unfortunately, Derrick J couldn’t make it tonight, so the phone lines were closed for this episode.
We started off the show discussing Matt’s new pool– party at Matt’s house!!!– and my recent contact with police. On my way home from a night of Copblocking, a new traffic sign hidden by trees caused me to acquire a ransom note (AKA ticket). The cops sat in the lot across the street watching my turn signal blink at a red light before making two illegal turns to catch me. I’ll be fighting that one in court & plan to follow Ademo’s example and serve jail time rather than give them any of my money.
Next, we announced the exciting news of six new Copblock groups started in California, Florida, Georgia, New York, and Washington. This prompted a discussion of what got us involved in Copblock & the fight to further our cause. We encourage everyone to get involved by joining a group or starting your own. On the following segment, we were joined by our guest for the week: James from Marion County Copwatch. We discussed a recent news article from his area in which the local sherriff, Chris Blair, was arrested & charged with three felonies: two counts of perjury and one count of official misconduct. In addition, the head of the Bureau of Professional Standards & the head of the Bureau of Special Investigations (which includes the Major Crimes Division) were put on paid admin leave. Seems like the corruption in Marion County has finally been exposed.
Next up, we discussed an article about a NYPD cop, Risel Martinez, whom had his badge and gun revoked. He was caught on camera pointing a gun at bystanders & sucker-punching one of them before arresting him for filming the incident.
The second half of the show revolved around the debate of paying fines: pennies vs no pennies. Ademo recently wrote an article about Brett Sanders paying a fine in pennies. Sanders literally dumps a bucket of pennies on the counter/floor & walks out. Ademo’s (and my) stance was this was good activism because it has a high possibility of planting seeds in people’s mind. Plus it wastes the government’s time because someone has to collect and count all those pennies. I’ve done it myself. However, Joshua Hotchkin (along with Matt & Brian) disagree & wrote up his own take on the issue: it’s pointless, immature, and harmful to the liberty movement. Which side are you on?
The final topic of the show was a discussion about common myths about Copblockers. We’re so hated that any article from Copblock.org is automatically discredited & deemed not “real” news. We are also assumed to be meth-heads, child molesters, unemployed, living in our parent’s basements, & overall trouble-making losers. Most, if not all, of these claims are untrue. It’s amazing what people will choose to believe in order to justify sticking their heads in the sand.
