A 40-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history and recently wanted for a deadly shooting outside of a strip club in Winston-Salem, was apprehended by the Joint Fugitive Task Force at a Greensboro, North Carolina, apartment Sunday morning, the U.S. Marshals service announced in press release with a catchy headline.

Seirras Deshan Cobb, 40, is accused of shooting Eric Jermane Pegus, 41, on May 25. Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were called to the Paper Moon Gentlemen’s Club just before 3 a.m. in response to the shooting.

Responding officers found Pegus just outside of the club, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Pegus was transported to a hospital, but later died from his injuries. Witnesses said Cobb shot Pegus as he stood outside near the club’s entrance.

Authorities identified Cobb as the suspect in the shooting and through an investigation, the task force learned he was residing at a Greensboro apartment. After obtaining arrest warrants from the Winston-Salem Police Department, the task force, along with local law enforcement, confirmed Cobb’s whereabouts and surrounded the apartment just after 8 a.m. Sunday.

As authorities converged on the residence, Cobb surrendered to authorities without incident and was detained at the front door. He was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center and will face charges for murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Cobb is no stranger to law enforcement. In fact, he was charged last year for accessory to murder after the fact for his involvement in the shooting death of Delmorio Lamontae Blockson, 26. Blockson was found in a car in Winston-Salem, shot to death following an argument with Cobb’s acquaintance, Anthony Ordell Abran, who was also charged with first-degree murder. Abran had already served 16 years in prison for a previous, unrelated murder he committed as a teen. Cobb was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm in that incident.

An online search for court documents pertaining to last year’s murder case turned up no available records.

It appears Cobb became a convicted felon in his early 20s and has faced numerous felony charges over the last two decades.
