Top quality picks will bolster new administration

Donald Trump is making all the right moves as he picks Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) for U.S. Attorney General, Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KA) as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn as national security adviser. With a Republican dominated Senate, his exceedingly capable selections should easily win approval.  Unlike the other cabinet posts, national security adviser does not require senate confirmation. Each of the three nominees have years of experience in Washington and stood firm against the GOP establishment to support Trump from the onset of his campaign.

Today Donald Trump will be meeting with former Massachusetts governor and failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Unlike those previously selected for top posts, Romney has been a harsh critic of the president-elect. Other meetings will be taking place throughout the weekend.

Earlier this week in a surprise move, Trump named Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to the chief of staff position. Steve Bannon, executive chairman of the conservative Breitbart News was selected as chief strategist and senior counselor.
