(Before It's News)

Last Friday, the 45th President, Donald J. Trump, took part in his first pass in review shortly after his inauguration, followed by his first military salute.

From the steps of the East end of the Capitol, Trump, who attended a military boarding school, New York Military Academy in his teens, reviewed the combined select honor guards of the U.S. military. The commander of the Military District of Washington, Army Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Becker, explains the procession to the new chief executive.

The review ends with the passing of the Commander-in-Chief’s Guard of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, dressed in the same style ceremonial uniforms worn when providing bodyguard services to George Washington during the Revolutionary War, and their accompanying Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.

At 6:00~ Becker renders Trump his first official direct salute, and it is returned.

Over 6,000 service members representing all five military branches as well as the National Guard and service academies were on hand for the Inauguration, which saw a number of protests, some violent.
