(Before It's News)

A Washington man is behind bars after his murder-for-hire plot was foiled thanks to him accidentally sending details of his plans to a former boss instead of the hitman he hired to do the job.

Jeff Lytle, 42, of Monroe, planned to collect $1.5 million in life insurance, which he promised to split evenly with “Shayne” for killing Lytle’s wife and 4-year-old daughter, who he described as “a bonus.” Lytle told Shayne where his wife worked and what time she got off work, then instructed him to “make it look like a robbery gone wrong or make it a[n] accident.”

But what Lytle didn’t realize was that he actually sent the text message not to Shayne but his former boss, who promptly called the police.

Lytle was arrested on investigation of two counts of criminal solicitation for murder in the first degree. He is being held on a $1 million bail.
