Tartar is an annoyance since it makes your teeth look yellow and can harm your dental health. You know sitting in the dental hygenist’s chair having it scraped away that you should find a better way to rid yourself of it as they always warn you aboutperiodontitis. The good news is that there are some natural ways that you can rid yourself of tartar.
Strawberries and Tomatoes
Both strawberries and tomatoes contain high levels of Vitamin C in them, so you can rub them on your teeth to get a huge benefit. Leave it for about five minutes as this will soften your tartar making it easier to remove. You can rinse your mouth with water and a small amount of baking soda. This can also be done with lemons, berries, papaya, oranges, and bell peppers.
Cheese Before Meals
Aged cheeses, like cheddar and Swiss, should be eaten before meals to help soften tartar as they have a compound in them that neutralizes the acids in your food.
Baking Soda
Take a tablespoon of baking soda and a half tablespoon of salt. Mix them in a cup. Dip your toothbrush into some water and then into the baking soda mixture. Brush your teeth, and be sure to spit. Repeat this process over and over for five minutes.
You’ll rinse your mouth with a cup of warm water mixed with a cup of hydrogen peroxide. Gargle with it for a minute before spitting it out. Rinse your mouth with a 1/2 cup of cold water.
Use a dental pick to scrape the tartar from your teeth as it’ll be softened, but be careful to protect your gums from scraping as this could be damaging to them.
Rinse with mouthwash. You’ll want to do this every other day.
Before Bed
Before going to bed, you can rub some orange peel along your teeth as this will help with bacteria overnight.
Other Tips:
• Floss regularly.
• Use a soft bristled brush that can get into the spaces.
• Stimulate salivation by eating spicy foods as your saliva cleans your mouth naturally.
