Why are We Forced to Provide a List of Our Property to the State in Order to Use it?

(Before It's News)

America has long been known as the land of the free and people often correlate their freedom with the sacrifice of a few brave men who stand ready to initiate force on their behalf. However the opposite is true, those “brave” men are often cowards, lacking the spine to refuse obvious immoral and illegal of orders, and often are emboldened by their elevation in status and use their power to profit from involvement in criminal enterprises.

I myself was amongst the ranks of these individuals and recognized a severe divide between the reasons; or lack thereof and the realities of life in the enforcement class and have since dedicated myself to demanding a change. After 4 years in the military and tour in Iraq it was abundantly clear to me that the military was not responsible for safeguarding freedom. It was becoming clearer to me that those who refused to let their behavior be augmented by the arbitrary authority of the state were in fact more responsible for the individual liberties I enjoyed than any soldier or police officer.

Unfortunately for the peace loving individual, as long as there have been institutions of governance there have been individuals whose propensity to violence, individual greed or inability to reason have led them to become career members of government gangs. Pledging an allegiance to the state that usurps their allegiance to their fellow man. Proving on a daily basis that their job is more important than their morality or the well being of their neighbors.

The same allegiance to the will of another becomes the foundation and excuse for the threats of violence levied against their friends and neighbors. These threats of violence not only stabilize civil unrest but inadvertently add a sense of legitimacy to any sitting power. After all it only takes enough people willing to use violence against another to make any law a reality.

When your livelihood are dependent on you not understanding something, it is unlikely that you ever will. This is exactly what enables the military industrial complex that intercedes on behalf of both the armed forces overseas and the domestic police forces that dominate our cities. As the institutional power of the governing body expanded so did the level enforcement necessary to make the population conform to their demands.
