Russia: The Future Is Here – Sochi Gives Us Hologram Police (Video)

(N.Morgan) There’s a lot of speculating as to how the Olympics in Sochi will go. A new technology has been added bu Russia, the hologram cop. In the video below it gives a demonstration of how this hologram looks and works. Pretty creepy, if you ask me.
An interactive hologram of a policewoman giving instructions and explanations was installed in a police station of Central Sochi as part of programme to prepare for the Olympic Games. The virtual consultant was installed in December last year. The gadget features the projection of a real person, can speak Russian and English and can be navigated via the nearby information terminal.
The hologram is installed in the entrance hall of the police station and is used as a virtual consultant telling visitors general information about police and its work and consulting on matters of security. This is a test project and for now there is only one unit of its kind installed, but if the idea proves to be successful, the virtual consultants may appear in other police stations of Sochi.
