A mummy has been discovered on the glacier at the summit Pico de Orizaba without carrying mountaineering clothes.
Pico de Orizaba Mexico is the highest summit of Mexico (5610m), 5-hour drive far from Mexico City. Recently, in a glacier on this summit, experts have accidentally discovered a frozen mummy.
It is most likely the mummy of a person being in distress on summit Pico de Orizaba. But special thing is that this victim was completely unclothed without climbing gear but only wearing ordinary outfits.
The mummy was discovered in the location far from the mountain about 304.8m in state of very well preservation. Shortly after the body was found, scientists immediately have much speculation about the relationship between the mummy and events of the past.
Initially, people connected this body with two mummies discovered a few months ago also in Pico de Orizaba. Accordingly, the people talked about the story of three adventurers missing while climbing to the peak 55 years ago. Two of the three mummies were found, so maybe this new mummy was the last person in the story above.
However, this hypothesis is not supported because of the lack of authentication. In fact, the positions detecting new mummy and the two old mummies were totally different. On the other hand, with the state of clothes as mentioned above, this mummy was likely not coming here to climb.
The question arising is where this mummy came from? The most credible hypothesis now is that this mummy belongs to a plane crash victim in 1990 in Pico de Orizaba.
Now other information about the mummy is still being conducted to identify.
