Have You Refreshed Your PPC Campaign Lately?

Nothing stays the same forever. Technology is constantly improving and new trends are always emerging. Companies that want to stay competitive must periodically review the way they operate and do business. While you may not have to change the chairs and desks in your office, there are other things that deserve your attention. One of those things that you might want to take a look at is your PPC campaign.

Is Your Current Strategy Working?

It is easy to become complacent and not give your PPC campaign anything more than a cursory review. If business is pretty good and you are busy, this segment of an overall marketing strategy often gets the least attention. That is a mistake. While the CEO may not have time to review the important performance statistics like total clicks and conversions, someone in the organization should have that responsibility. If those statistics show that there is room for improvement, it’s time to refresh your PPC campaign.

Selecting the Best Domain Name

Do you want to give your response and conversion rates a boost by as much as 50 percent? One way that might just work is to select a generic targeted domain name. The trick is to choose a domain name that is the exact description of the product you want to sell. You would not use your company name, but rather, the product that people might be looking to buy. Instead of using mikescarparts.com you would be better off with corvetteradiators.com.

Steps to Get Your PPC Campaign Back on Track

1. The first step in revamping your PPC campaign is to define your goals and objectives. You should be able to focus on strategies that will move you toward your goals. If your objective is to increase the number of leads, you might want to arouse a visitor’s curiosity and not give them a hard sell. If you are beyond that stage and want to focus on getting existing customers to return and place another order, you may offer a coupon or other incentive when they click.

2. Google Adwords is the giant in SEO and PPC marketing. Every online advertiser dreams of getting their ads on the first page of Google. Google has tools that allow you to customize your Adwords so they target your intended audience. When you become proficient at choosing the best keywords, you will improve your rankings in the Google search engine and generate more clicks and positive responses.

3. Using the wrong keywords is another area that can negatively affect your results. Not everyone has a good grasp on how to select the best keywords. If you don’t have confidence in selecting the most effective keywords, you can get some help online, or hire a professional marketer who is well-versed in PPC marketing.

4. Always follow through on any promise you may make. Nothing will drive potential clients away from your site faster than directing them to a broken link. Check your website often to make sure everything is working properly.

5. Keep track of your PPC performance; record and measure results against an established benchmark.

Keep at it.

Give your newly updated campaign a chance to work. It might take several weeks or several months to show results. If you notice an opportunity for improvement, make the necessary changes. No PPC campaign is perfect, but every campaign can always be improved.
