If you don’t know Johnta Austin as a singer, you definitely know some of the hit songs he’s written artists like Mariah Carey (“We Belong Together”) and Mary J Blige (“Be Without You”). He has tried his hand at singing before and is actually a good singer in my opinion. This year he has released a few tracks here, including a track with Trey Songz called “Never Enough Time”. Now he’s on the brink of releasing a new mixtape in December titled Love. The first single from that project is “What A Feeling” featuring Jermaine Dupri. Although this song and some of the other unreleased ones are pretty good, there’s one that sticks out the most to me. “Turn It Up” was released in 2006 and was one of my favorite R & B songs that year. The song is a feel good track that gives props to just about every relevant R & B artist and what he would do to their songs. Check out this throwback song that may be the first listen for many of you. You’ll see producers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox make cameos in the video too.
