While controversy and critical acclaim swarm the new Quentin Tarantino flick Django: Unchained, there’s one person who’s looking at it from an outsider’s point of view. Frank Ocean. The 6 time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter/producer was snatched from the final soundtrack’s track listing, but he’s not bitter about it. Last week, he released his contribution to the film, titled “Wiseman” on his Tumblr page. He wrote “the movie was ill without it”. In regards to why the song wasn’t used, Tarantino said he couldn’t find a scene in the movie where the song would fit. Interesting ….a lot of songs on a soundtrack are not featured in the actual movie, but I digress. I commend Frank Ocean for being a good sport about not being included on the final project. But I think leaving it off was a big mistake. John Legend, Anthony Hamilton and Rick Ross can all be found on the official soundtrack.
Listen to the song here….
