Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are in a fierce debate of sorts about late-term abortions; Schultz refuses to specify when she and her party believe life begins, and Paul refuses to answer if he is okay with exceptions to abortions such as rape or incest.
The two are at a standstill, with each party seemingly refusing to answer until the other does.
Schultz joined CNN host Wolf Blitzer and then Fox News’ Megyn Kelly and still refused to answer Paul’s question on both shows–and added that Paul is the one who is deflecting.
Schultz believes she answered Paul’s question by claiming that she and her party are “pro-choice.” She held fast to the notion that if the mother and her doctor are okay with an abortion, then that is okay.
