(Before It's News)

As Clint Eastwood’s movie “American Sniper” was fast becoming a huge box office hit — it was the highest-grossing domestic release of 2014 — Michael Moore took a few potshots at the biopic and its director. Western Journalism told you about several of those hateful attacks leveled by the ultra-leftist filmmaker and progressive provocateur.

In a ranty attempt to prove that Eastwood is a violence-prone bully — much like the description Moore tried to pin on the subject of “American Sniper,” the late Chris Kyle — Moore took to Facebook in late January to charge that Clint Eastwood once publicly threatened his life.

Ten years ago this past week, Clint Eastwood stood in front of the National Board of Review awards dinner and announced to me and to the crowd that he would “kill” me if I ever came to his house with my camera for an interview.

“I’ll kill you,” he declared.

Understandably, that account of Eastwood’s alleged threat against Moore stirred a great deal of response on social media. Wednesday night at an event in Las Vegas, the legendary director and actor reacted to the shocking charge by Michael Moore and the resulting social media firestorm.

The industry publication Variety recounts Eastwood’s acknowledgement of the feud with Michael Moore during a question and answer session at the exhibition trade show CinemaCon.

“Eastwood said he was upset that Moore had showed up on NRA president Charlton Heston’s doorstep in [“Bowling for Columbine”] to grill him on gun control, because he said the actor was ailing and had Alzheimer’s.”

Then Eastwood went on to address the supposed threat he made on Moore’s life. And it took the iconic star just eight words to sum up the facts and his feelings about Moore’s allegation.

“That’s not true.”

“It isn’t a bad idea,” he added, after a pause — followed by nervous laughter from the audience.

As of this writing, Moore has not posted on his Facebook page any reply to Eastwood’s provocative quip, which no doubt, many will take to be a veiled threat that could once again light up leftist websites, blogs and social media.
