“It kept building, the feelings I had inside. I was getting so angry I couldn’t think about the steps.” That’s what Iraq War vet Noah Galloway told FOX411 about the intense emotions he experienced right before he and partner Sharna Burgess took the stage for their latest performance Monday night on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.
The double-amputee Army veteran said he was outraged because of what the audience saw right before the dance that would determine whether he advanced to the next round of the popular TV competition — the show aired a behind-the-scenes look at a rehearsal in which Galloway and his dance partner were seen having a spat: “In the rehearsal clip, a testy Galloway was shown telling Burgess he wanted ‘a little bit of respect’ after she appeared to boss him around.”
Whatever ill feelings may have been stirred up didn’t last long, as the pair hugged and made up. Still, as the report on Fox News makes clear, “Galloway and Burgess had to dance right after seeing their rehearsal segment for the first time….”
And why was Noah Galloway so upset by the incident being shown? Not because of how it made him look to the huge TV audience, rather because he thought it made his partner, Sharna Burgess, look bad.
“Burgess, a longtime DWTS pro, noted, ‘He went into battle for me and went in to protect me, “No, it wasn’t her fault, it was mine!” I think that is so sweet.’”
Galloway is certainly no stranger to battle. Just three months into his second tour in Iraq, he lost much of his left arm and left leg in an IED explosion. Still, he has wowed the DWTS judges and a vast army of fans with his strength, determination and talent.
By clicking on the video above, you can watch Noah’s latest performance in which he overcame his outrage and danced a rumba that helped to advance him to next week’s competition.
