According to a complaint by one Mississippi College senior, school administrators deemed him a threat to himself and others before unjustly suspending him. Jeremy Rawls, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served two tours in Iraq, returned home with a goal of continuing his education. He told Campus Reform that he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder following his military service and, as a result, must register as a disabled student prior to each new semester at Mississippi College.
Part of that process, he explained, involved visiting a campus counselor who, upon meeting with him for the first time, was dressed in Islamic attire.
“It’s not that I didn’t want to participate,” he said of the potential culture clash, noting that he “didn’t want to traumatize her” by addressing his personal disabilities.
Instead, he said he tried repeatedly to speak with college officials in an effort to meet with another counselor. His efforts were initially unsuccessful; and, when he was granted an audience with school officials, he said he was given a reprimand instead of assistance.
Due to his protracted recovery from a recent surgery, Rawls said his paperwork was late prior to the beginning of the latest semester.
“Their response,” he said of the school’s staff, “was suspending me pending a mental evaluation which I provided” and the subsequent addition of “further restriction and a reintegration program.”
Initially prohibited from setting foot on campus, Gates was later informed that he would be given provisional access to his classes but not to extracurricular activities.
Gates has filed a discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and continues to look for an attorney willing to take on his case. Meanwhile, he said he continues to work toward a diplomatic solution with administrators.
“They asked me what I wanted,” he said, “and I told them I want to be a normal student and I want my job back.”
His effort is not limited to resolving a personal experience, he said, asserting that he does not want another veteran to go through what he has endured.
“If they’ll do this to me,” he concluded, “and I’m one of the most outspoken veterans on campus, they’ll definitely do this to others.”

The next time a ‘patriot’ tells you that we should ‘support and defend America’, simply point out to them that this ‘America’ is what created these liberal cesspools of Socialist thought. Then ask them why you, or anyone, should defend America in some insane attempt to protect and support, when it OBVIOUSLY has no intention of defending and supporting actual Americans who offered their services, their life, so they could be so blatantly COMMUNIST?
No, my friends, it is time this nation fell forever. Then, those who wanted to tear it down can see what they were tearing down. Of course, even if it does fall, they won’t ever connect their evil actions with what happened. They are going to blame YOU and PATRIOTISM for why it fell. This is just the way their defective brains work.
