In Times Of Trouble (An Open Letter To Myself)

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7

I’ve grown weary of the politics.

I’m tiring of the earthly struggle for truth and righteousness. There is a Divine Plan in place, and there is no power on earth that could ever thwart the Sovereign Prerogative of the Almighty Creator.

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” – Matthew 6:34

We are the human clay in the Hands of the Great Potter. Jesus is our Restoration and our Glorification.

I have a desire for greater repentance, a fervent prayer for the amending of transgressions. But these are thorns and sorrows we are required to bear. Deep emotional and spiritual wounds may leave their mark, but God’s chastening love provides shelter from the dark storms (that dim the light and rise within).

I’ve brought it upon myself. In times of weakness (and deferred watchfulness), I’ve left myself open to attack. I’m an accomplice to my own demise and am deserving of perpetual ruin.

Guilt and regret fuel the fiery darts of Satan. I’ll take my shot and bear it with patience.

For others, there are manifold temptations. Those who endure are now made tender. They walk with true hope and childlike faith.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” – 2 Corinthians 5:7

The path of humanity is a vale of tears, and the dams are about to break. I’m tried and broken.

Crushed again by the evil path taken, I’m bruised and swollen.

I will take the fall; for He has risen. On my knees like a beggar, I cherish the smallest crumb so undeservingly given.

You are Gracious despite my rebellion. I lay down my burdens knowing You will take them.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

God is Strong, and He is Able. I stand my ground and embrace the storm. The Lord is Good, Suffering Long with the faithful. To whom else shall we go?

This is my reminder to Him. This is my final plea. Your Will be done…..

Please remember me.

Sincerely,

A sinner

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8
