Watch: Kid Who Filmed Texas Pool Party Video Speaks Out With Stunning Accusations; Residents Disagree

(Before It's News)

Brandon Brooks, the young man who filmed the viral video of the pool party incident in McKinney, Texas, believes race had a lot to do with how the police handled the situation–but other witnesses disagree.

Brooks, 15, who is Caucasian, told CW33: “I was one of the only white people in the area when that was happening. You can see in part of the video where [McKinney Police Cpl. Eric Casebolt] tells us to sit down, and he kinda like skips over me and tells all my African-American friends to go sit down.”

The video shows that Brooks, in fact, remained standing as officers yelled at the other kids to sit down. He continued to walk around the scene as officers moved around him, subduing the black kids in the area.

As for the most controversial part of the video (reported on by Western Journalism), when Officer Eric Casebolt slammed 15-year-old Dajerria Becton to the ground and put his knees on her back, Brooks said: “I think she was quote unquote running her mouth, and she has freedom of speech and that was very uncalled for him to throw her to the ground. When he pulled his gun my heart dropped. As soon as he pulled out his gun, I thought he was going to shoot that kid. That was very scary.”

Other witnesses to the incident disagree with Brooks’ assessment. “I want everyone to know that the police officer was completely in the right along with everyone else. They were completely in the right and protecting everyone. He was not out of line. I completely support him drawing his weapon or a Taser or whatever it was that he did pull because he was being attacked from behind,” a woman, who wished to not be identified, conveyed to CNN. “I think he deserves a medal for what he did. I really do.”

Benét Embry, a local radio show host and eyewitness who is black, told CNN: “I do not believe that this was about race. What this was was a teenage party that got out of control. It was about 130 kids there, 100 good kids there just having a good time. Out of the 130, predominantly African American, seven knuckleheads ruined the whole thing for everybody.”

Craig Ranch resident Bryan Gestner posted on Facebook: “This was a Twitter party that turned into a mob event. Jumping pool fence. Assaulting 2 security guards, attacking a mother with three little girls. The video doesn’t show everything.” He said that “the kids were drinking and ‘smoking weed’ and would not listen to the adults around the pool,” the Dallas Morning News reports.

“This isn’t about race,” he said. “This is about outside kids invading our neighborhood, and had no respect for authority or the residents here.”

The McKinney Fraternal Order of Police released a statement on Monday echoing this sentiment. “The subjects involved were a mixture of teens and adults who were trespassing not in a community pool but a private property pool regulated and maintained by this particular Home Owners Association,” the statement said. “Vandalism and active fighting was reported in the same area involving this group of teens and adults.”

Hundreds of protesters marched through McKinney on Monday night chanting slogans heard in Ferguson, New York City, and Baltimore including: “No justice, no peace”; “Hands up, don’t shoot”; “Black lives matter”; and “Charge him,” referring to Officer Casebolt.

Casebolt has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Brooks’ takeaway lesson from the incident is: “They’re just going to discriminate against them because they’re black. What if that was your kid getting slung to the ground?”

  • Here we go again… blacks chimping out, acting like punks and thugs then get called ionn the carpet for their actions and cry foul play. (Yawn)

  • Perhaps segregation wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Seems cultural differences prevents certain groups of people from peacefully coexisting.

    I don’t think it’s a color of skin thing. It’s just a culture thing.

We have Indian Reservations. Maybe we could have Reservations. where people of different ethnic groups could of their own free will go to live away from other ethnic groups if a person wanted to live among their own culture of people.

  • This is Karma for bringing slaves here. That did All the dirty work for owners who were at least cruel. Cause they did not swim here. Nor come in sailing ships. These “Bad” cops are getting called out and I’m glad no one was killed. The way he slung that girl to the ground, he almost broke her arm, or easily could have. I thought the police department handled the situation well. Good riddance to “Bad” cop. Everyone is gona get theirs one way or the other.

  • Let the nig nogs build their OWN pool so they can chimp out there. God I am so tired of this media plug I could scream.
