The segment on the MSNBC program All In with Chris Hayes was called “The Jenner Effect.” And if this video clip from the show is any indication, the “effect” is to cause supposedly capable commentators to devolve into what one might call blubbering boobs as they try to conjure up some sort of intelligent, enlightened observations about the transgendered celebrity formerly known as Bruce.
Of course, this was on MSNBC, where — in the name of progressivism — what many would consider pure gibberish is passed off as pure genius.
The woman featured in this clip from the show is Michelle Goldberg, senior contributing writer for The Nation, the self-described “flagship of the left” that’s devoted to politics and culture.
Somehow, Goldberg’s observations about Caitlyn Jenner turned to why “second-wave feminists” want to remove the use of the word “women” when it comes to discussing abortion. The rest of Goldberg’s comments are, well, so convoluted and contorted that even the fellow next to her — New York Times sports columnist William Rhoden — couldn’t help but look politely puzzled by what was said.
By clicking on the video above, you can see for yourself what might just be the most bizarre gibberish yet on TV about Jenner’s adventure into transgenderism that’s become a liberal cause célèbre.
