A short video could have long-lasting implications for a presidential campaign already suffocating at the bottom of a growing pile of scandals. Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democrat nominee, was recently caught interacting with supporters during a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
According to the Weekly Standard, Clinton was outside a Hampton brewery when she was greeted by a supporter asking for her autograph. Instead of granting the request, Clinton instructed the woman to wait her turn.
“If you go to the – go to the end of the line,” she said.
When the fawning fan failed to comply, Clinton shot back: “Why don’t you go to the back of the line?”
The brief interaction was caught by an operative working with the conservative America Rising PAC and, as of this writing, has been viewed roughly 130,000 times.
While Clinton’s message could well have been an attempt to maintain order, it was her demeanor and tone that sparked significant social media criticism.
At least one Twitter user took a page from the left’s playbook, asserting that Clinton’s dismissal of a female supporter has “gotta be sexist, right?”
Another did not have a problem with the candidate’s comment; he just thinks it should be aimed at a different audience.
As she struggles to maintain support, will Hillary’s attitude toward this supporter further damage her campaign? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
