(Before It's News)

Jerry Seinfeld believes that political correctness is anti-comedy.

While doing an interview to promote his internet program, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Seinfeld agreed with ESPN radio talk show host Colin Cowherd that college campuses’ hyper-sensitive, politically correct ways create a barrier to comedians, whose material regularly traffics in making fun of themselves and others.

Cowherd asked the comedian, “Does the climate worry you now? I’ve talked to Chris Rock and Larry the Cable Guy and they don’t even want to do college campuses.”

“I hear that all the time. I don’t play colleges but I hear a lot of people telling me they’re so PC,” Seinfeld responded.

The comedian elaborated that teens and college students don’t even really understand what the PC terms mean. “They just want to use these words: ‘That’s racist;’ ‘That’s sexist;’ ‘That’s prejudice,’” he said. “They don’t know what the f—k they’re talking about.”

He continued: “I’ll give you an example: My daughter’s 14. My wife says to her, ‘Well, you know, in the next couple years, I think maybe you’re going to want to be hanging around the city more on the weekends, so you can see boys.’ You know what my daughter says? She says, ‘That’s sexist.’”

“Does it hurt comedy?” Cowherd queried.

“Yes, it does. Yes it does,” responded Seinfeld.

In another part of the interview, the comedian said: “I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that. But everyone else is kind of, with their calculating—is this the exact right mix? I think that’s—to me it’s anti-comedy. It’s more about PC-nonsense.”

Fans of the hit 90s show Seinfeld will be pleased to learn who his first guest this season is on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.

With Seinfeld driving and Louis-Dreyfus, 54, in the passenger seat, the duo reminisce on old times. “You’re really making me miss the show now,” says Louis-Dreyfus. “The laughs we had!”

At one point, Seinfeld screams out to a fellow driver at a stop light. “I’m so sorry,” Seinfeld says. “We’re doing the Seinfeld reunion and you’re not in it.”

“Because you’re so charming you got away with insulting her,” Louis-Dreyfus adds.

The two also had a little run-in with actress Hilary Swank
