As viewers tune in to CNN for the second Republican presidential primary Wednesday night, evangelist Franklin Graham wants Americans to recognize that there is more at stake than a party nomination.
Tonight, the second GOP debate will take place. I’ll be watching with interest—and I will be praying. http://t.co/NxgjH3VXuf

“I’m not a Democrat or a Republican,” he wrote on Facebook, “but I assure you that I’ll be watching with interest – and I will be praying.” Graham went on to note that he hopes those on stage “will not focus on attacking each other, but rather on the issues facing America.”
We all need to pray for godly leadership in this nation, leadership that understands and follows biblical values and principles. — Franklin Graham (@Franklin_Graham) September 16, 2015
Those issues, he noted, will only be adequately addressed when the nation embraces a biblical leader.
It’s definitely not too early to pray for next year’s elections—and thank God, it’s not too late!

“We all need to pray for godly leadership in this nation,” he insisted, “leadership that understands and follows biblical values and principles. It’s definitely not too early to pray for next year’s elections – and thank God, it’s not too late!”
While Graham held out hope for a civil debate, however, many Facebook users were not so optimistic.
“Too bad Franklin,” one comment read, “the news media is already hyping it up and has said they are hoping it will be a blood bath.”
Another chimed in that “the networks want RATINGS, nothing more.”
Many others applauded Graham’s sentiment, expressing similar hope for the nation’s future.
“Franklin Graham is chosen of God for such a time as this,” one supporter wrote.
