As Senator Rand Paul prepares for the second Republican presidential debate Wednesday night, he’s setting his crosshairs firmly on GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
I’m going to mix it up, because I like to rumble and I like to make sure people know the differences between the candidates.
Paul said to the Daily Caller that his main objective is going to be making sure the whole country knows Trump is a “fake conservative,” and “deserves both barrels.”
He elaborated with Megyn Kelly on The Kelly File.
Donald Trump was for President Obama’s stimulus plan. He was for President Obama’s Obamacare. So really I do think he’s a fake Conservative.
The senator then questioned if Trump is the guy America wants with his finger on the button.
Someone who is calling another candidate ugly, stupid, fat. So I think that sort of unrestrained, uncontrolled narcissism – is the best way to put it – is probably not someone you want in charge of your nuclear arsenal.”
Despite the senator’s attacks – and others like it – Trump’s numbers continue to rise. Paul is confident that will end.
I think right now the race is being influenced by celebrity. He’s reached his crest. I think people are going to wake up and say, “Oh my goodness! This guy could actually be the commander in chief.” And I think they’re going to think twice about that.
Is Paul right about Donald Trump? Will they get along in the debate? Or will there be fireworks? Share and comment below.
