Stock Up! The End Is Near! Or So Say Mormons…

Tuesday, September 15, 2015 9:21
% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(Before It's News)

There are some Mormons currently preparing for the world to end, on or around the close of this month. While the Mormon church officially does not endorse that idea, some of that ‘faith’ are stocking up on food and other necessities so as to have something to eat, clothing to wear, and a place to sleep … when the end comes. (Why exactly would anyone need supplies if it’s really the end, anyway? Skip it.)

Nevertheless, the idea now is that a full moon, scheduled for September 28, 2015, is a final precursor heralding the apocalypse. This particular speculation (this time around) is based upon conclusions derived from some recently published books by an otherwise unknown Mormon mom of three, Julie Rowe. And though this latest prognostication may itself be unique, the resultant panic-stricken scenario is certainly not a new one.

Before we go any further, I can assure you that the earth, and life as we know it, will be rolling along, business as usual, until God closes the curtain on things. And, while we all should be able to see and sense the immediacy of the end of days (Matthew 16:3, Luke 12:56), NO ONE can predict a precise moment for that finale to happen. And, that being the case, it’s very safe to say that this latest prediction is more complete bunk.

The cults and assorted nutcases who want to sell their books, or to simply hold power over people, have for centuries been predicting dates for the world’s end and/or Christ’s return. And so long as people remain ignorant of the word of God, crafty deceivers will be making merchandise out of a constant supply of pitifully vulnerable victims.

Cults quite commonly use made-up prophecy to bolster their membership. For example, beginning around 1918, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society – today commonly known as ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses’ – began teaching that the Old Testament saints–Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and King David, etc.–would all be returning from the dead in 1925! They were so ‘convinced’ of this happening that they built a big, expensive mansion in San Diego where those guys were all to live (prior to traveling to Jerusalem, where they would oversee the establishment of the new world).

That house was named “Beth Sarim” – which is Hebrew for ‘house of the princes.’ And while I don’t recall Abraham or any of his family ever showing up at that time, conveniently enough, their second president (the man who dreamed up all that stuff) lived quite comfortably in that beautiful mansion – built with contributions from his membership – until his death in 1941.

Later on, after the embarrassment of that false prophecy (one of their many, through the years) had subsided, the house was quietly sold. But in all the years leading up to 1925, the Watchtower had ‘baptized’ (signed up) a lot of gullible, intimidated people who were fearful of the false prophecy (lie) they had been sold. And, regardless of how they were enlisted, more members equated to more working bodies who marched out and further sold the organization’s material. And even today, such sheep work at no cost to the organization–because they believe they are thereby pleasing God.

The Mormon church as well is responsible for having made several very obviously false prophecies, and similarly benefiting from the hold they’ve had over their adherents.

But most dangerous and damaging is how the adversary of Christ (the devil himself) uses false prophecy and the shenanigans of deceitful charlatans in order to vilify true Christianity and discredit the truth of God’s message. Today, most of the unbelieving world has been convinced – through a recurring series of these fraudulent false alarms – that the entire message of the Bible (and certainly the return of Christ) is simply a contemptible and superstitious ruse. The fact is that our Lord has instructed his children to ‘occupy’ (by patience and faith, living a normal and productive life) until his return.

But Jesus himself warned us that the last days of this world would be rife with false teachers and false prophets. He specifically said that “many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:11) And, precisely because of false prophecy and the misplaced expectations of the uninformed, the apostle Peter’s prediction in his second letter is also now coming to pass:
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts … And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep (died), all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation … For this they willingly are ignorant …” (2 Peter, 2)

Despite anyone’s prophecies, or this world’s popular opinions, though, Jesus will return, and – given the undeniable, current fulfillment of his words regarding this time – quite soon.

As for the complete unpredictability of the moment of his return, the Bible warns: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night …” (2 Peter:3) And also, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:42-44) (Notice there’s no mention of canned goods.)

Bottom line, and put quite simply, Jesus told us that, in the end times, apart from a person’s complete reliance upon the Holy Spirit of God (that small, righteous voice you occasionally feel tugging at your heart) in conjunction with the reliable litmus of God’s word, people will be blind as bats as the final battle is waged for the souls of mankind. (1 Corinthians 2-14, Matthew 24:24, etc.)

This most recent false prophecy – which, mark my word, will not come to pass – amounts to only one more tiny piece of eternally fatal, dark trickery sprouting in the building storm of deception coming upon the world. The Jesus of the Bible, like the ancient unsinkable Ark of Noah, remains the only chance for anyone to safely navigate the unprecedented evil that is now and will increasingly be unfolding in the days to come.

Stockpiling noodles and canned goods won’t prepare you for eternity.

“But [rather] store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”–Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:20,21)

  • Jehovahs witnesses built a huge mansion in SanDiego? LOLOLOLOL I AM A JEHOVAHS WITNESS and never heard or ever even heard a hint of anything like that!!! lol Back then thier was a Splintering of some who left the True Faith, and went off on their own, and started saying things, ACCORDING to their OWN ideas. Jehovahs Witnesses NEVER have EVER tried too officially predict anything Biblical, because NOONE knows the day or hour on almost anything except what the Bible accuracally foretells. For instance Jesus fore-warned the Jews in Jerusalem that when they saw the Roman armies surrounding Jerusalem , then the Christians were too leave immediatelly leaving behind everything and flee. Well later on sure enough the Roman armies came back too Jerusalem and laid seize toothe city. But LOL that is the first i ever heard of that lol. Some did not like what Charles Russel was trying too do ( namely ) , re-establish True Worship, according too the Bible, and so they splintered off creating their OWN ways and beliefs. WOW if THAT group went off too do that they was going too be in for a LOOOOONNNGGGGGGG wait lol. But in no way have the REAL Jehovahs Witnesses ever done anything like that. That is first of all Hilarious, and somewhat disturbing too me personally. Maybe Weird would better fit that. STOP stating garbage about others beliefs please, unless you know for a fact , and that is NOT how we would do it because that is NOT scriptural!!!! We would never do that because it is Unscriptural and , is just plain weird. Jehovah in all his wisdom will bring back the old ones, IN HIS own due time. Whoever wrote th is article should stop printing Dis-Information.

    • Also if anyone wants too know what a Jehovahs Witness believes then please Ask a Witness. If your not comftorable with that then please visit our Website at : J.W.org. You will also find many awesome videos and Bible based Dramas, which you can follow along in your own copy of the Bible. Dont believe this garbage here , find out for yourself.

      • If you are sincere, this will at least cause you to check this stuff out: The Watchtower officially kicked off the “Millions Campaign” around 1918 in a speech your second president, J.F. (‘Judge’) Rutherford delivered, entitled, “Millions Now Living Will Never Die!” The book by the same title was also published (1920) wherein, YOUR ORGANIZATION, AND NOT SOME SPLINTER GROUP said EXACTLY this:

“Scriptures definitely fix the fact that there will be a resurrection of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other faithful ones of old, and that these will have the first favour, we may expect 1925 to witness the return of these faithful men of Israel from the condition of death , being resurrected and fully restored to perfect humanity and made the visible, legal representatives of the new order of things on earth.” Millions Now Living Will Never Die p.88

The years up to 1925 saw TONS of WATCHTOWER material (including the magazines) saying stuff like this:

“Hence these faithful men may be expected on earth within the next few years.” The Harp of God p.340

        And this:

“”The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914;…” Watchtower 1924 Jul 15 p.211

And these quotes are not ‘lies of the apostate,’ they are historical FACT that YOU can find in any more complete Kingdom Hall library (if they still have those) or MANY sites on line. I have personally held the original books and mags that contained those LIES. Today, in the WT book (which you probably have) they gloss over the truth about the FACTS of the 1925 prophecy failure:

“On the basis of what was said there, many hoped that perhaps the remaining ones of the little flock would receive their heavenly reward by 1925. … Though mistaken, they eagerly shared it with others.” Jehovah’s Witnesses” – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom p.632

…and lots of other lying malarkey. But YOU owe it to yourself and whoever you care for involved in this organization, to, “Make SURE of All Things.” Like I said, ‘Trashman,’ be HONEST and GO LOOK IT UP.

  • Jehovah Witnesses have made numerous false prophecies.

They do not teach about them.

  • Beth Sarim (Hebrew בית שרים “House of the Princes”) is a ten-bedroom mansion in San Diego, California, constructed in 1929 in anticipation of various resurrected Old Testament biblical patriarchs or prophets such as Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah and Samuel. It was maintained by the Watch Tower Society, the parent organization used by Jehovah’s Witnesses, and was also used as a winter home and executive office for Watch Tower president Joseph Franklin Rutherford.

  • NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

  • Anyone who believes in personal responsibility should be building up personal preparations. It does not take an apocalyptic disaster for them to be useful. Natural disasters, loss of a job, illness, and other events can be less stressful if you have supplies on hand. Don’t be one of those morons standing up to your neck in water, waiting for the bus to come.

  • Well to be fair, Colorado City was nearly washed away.

  • Stock Up! The End Is Near! Or So Say Morons…

    Here, fixed it for you

    • But… but… but… They have magic underwear! They obviously know something…

      • Obviously! (Nice shot, Bill. I needed the laughter.)
