Before Getting Killed Fighting ISIS, He Had 4 PERFECT Words For Liberals

(Before It's News)

Earlier this year, Canadian John Robert Gallagher left his homeland to become a freedom fighter in Northern Syria. He joined the Kurdish People’s Protection Unit known as YPG in their fight against ISIS. The YPG are outgunned and outnumbered by ISIS, yet they realize they are in an existential fight against a group determined to annihilate them.

Gallagher joined the YPG in June and was reportedly killed Wednesday November 4th, 2015, by an ISIS fighter on a suicide mission. Before his death, Gallagher wrote a manuscript detailing his motivation for fighting with the YPG against ISIS, wishing to explain his motivations for fighting and possibly dying in the fight, a decision he admitted would be seen by some as insane. The manifesto was reproduced in its entirety by the National Post, a Canadian newspaper based in Ontario.

According to the National Post, Gallagher wrote,

This war has [against ISIS] produced casualties on every continent, in nearly every nation on earth. It has had periods of intense fighting, followed by long stretches of rearming and regrouping, but it has never ended. It is not even close to being won. Someday historians will look back and marvel at how much effort we put into deceiving ourselves about the nature of this conflict [against ISIS], and wonder how we convinced ourselves that it was not even taking place.

On ISIS’ theocratic fervor Gallagher wrote,

Theocracy isn’t just as dangerous as fascism; it’s the model of fascism, and all totalitarianisms. Communism said ‘instead of god, the Party.’ Fascism said, ‘instead of god, the Nation!’ Theocracy simply says ‘God.’

Further on Gallagher wrote,

Because of our [secular] beliefs, we live in the most racially inclusive, sexually liberated, and anti-imperialist society which has ever existed in human history, and to teach young people anything different is a criminal act of intellectual violence. And the crisis we face today is the direct result of this ‘progressive’ thinking: we are now under threat by those who take advantage of the masochism and apathy fostered by the left to recruit people who will take a violently affirmative ideology over nihilistic pessimism, even or especially if that means committing atrocities that would make the average ‘imperialist’ vomit. Those who contribute to this environment of moral decay and vulnerability are the useful idiots of jihad and fellow travelers of theocracy, and it is the duty of thinking persons to oppose their influence by every means at our disposal.

Gallagher concluded his essay in this way,

I’m prepared to give my life in the cause of averting the disaster we are stumbling towards as a civilization. A free Kurdistan would be good enough cause for any internationalist, but we are fortunate enough to be able to risk our necks for something more important and more righteous than anything we’ve faced in generations. With some fortitude and guts, we can purge the sickness [ISIS] that’s poisoning our society, and come together to defeat this ultimate evil. I’ve been fighting this battle in one way or another for my entire life. I hope for success. The rest is in the hands of the gods.

It is important to note that the YPG is considered by Turkey as a Kurdish, socialist, terrorist group, a branch of the PKK, and is responsible for attempted revolutions, assassinations, and murder in an attempt to gain freedom from Turkey. The PKK was formed in the late 1970’s and led to an armed conflict against Turkey starting in 1984. Since Turkey announced that it is joining the fight against ISIS, Turkey has been bombing the PKK in Turkey, as well as the YPG in Syria, the group that is fighting against ISIS.

Gallagher laid his life down in the war against ISIS, a war he claims is against theocratic fascism. Gallagher charged that pretending the war isn’t taking place is self-deception, as well as calling progressives “useful Idiots of jihad.” He said they are to blame for creating an atmosphere of multiculturalism and tolerance which allows the ideals of ISIS to thrive. YPG tributes to Gallagher can be seen on YPG’s Facebook page here.
