Carnival Barker Vs. Christian Surgeon

(Before It's News)

Sometimes the pundits are right. In the case of Donald Trump, many predicted his ego and his mouth would be his undoing. Well, it appears the pundits were correct: I can tell you that, I can tell you that…I promise you, I promise you.

It is instructive taking a few minutes to watch and listen.  Trump basically said Ben Carson has pathological disease, incurable, comparing him to a child molester, adding Iowa voters are “stupid” for supporting him.  Notice his audience was very reserved, even silent for the most part.

Trump’s unwise, irresponsible and self-defeating attack on Carson comes on the heels of the MSM’s attempts to cast Carson a liar and a fool. So, the MSM that Trump says he hates, he coordinates with, in attempts to assassinate Carson, one of the most likable and reliable and admirable people running for the White House.

Many people took Trump at his word when he said he is a Christian. Prominent pastors prayed with and for him, even coming close to endorsements. It was telling however when Trump admitted he has never asked for forgiveness. This rises to the level of Jeremiah Wright claiming he helped Obama convert to Christianity without renouncing Islam. This is akin to claiming you can mix oil and water, that light has fellowship with darkness, that pigs can fly and Democrats love the Constitution. The thick-headedness required to assert the impossible makes incoherence a virtue.

In order to be born again, one must repent of sin, and in order to repent of sin, one must ask God for forgiveness. If Trump has not asked God for forgiveness, he ignores his sin (pathological disease), his sin remains unforgiven, which means, he is not a born again believer. He may be a cultural Christian, a Christian In Name Only, but he is not a born again believer, a disciple, a saved person, the definition of “Christian.” The tragic reality is, if all this is true, Trump is deceived, hell bound, thinking himself saved.

Ben Carson, on the other hand, is indeed a saved person, a born again believer. When he wrote in his book about wanting to assault his mother, or trying to stab another person, in fits of youthful rage, he wrote of these events in humility, illustrating his need for God, for forgiveness, for redemption, for salvation, for a renewing of his mind, which only God can provide. Unlike Trump, Carson recognizes his need for forgiveness, sharing his story to encourage others, an act of courage and humility. By repenting and asking for forgiveness, Carson took the courageous step of acknowledging his need for help, he received his healing, and went on to become one of the greatest healers the world has ever seen.

This is not the first time Trump has attacked Carson, and his faith. He has frequently mocked Carson’s faith and questioned his character, another indicator Trump is little more than a carnival barker, a man willing to say anything to draw a crowd.

Trump the saloon keeper, the casino boss, the CINO, believes he sits in judgment of Carson?  Which man suffers from ‘pathological disease?’

You see, Trump is wrong claiming you cannot be cured of ‘pathological’ disease. One can be cured of anything, thanks to the Great Physician. Carson received his healing. Trump’s disease remains.

We shall see if Trump can be forgiven his political sin, which is really two-fold: viciously attacking a very good man who does not deserve it, and calling voters ‘stupid.’ If character and judgment matter to voters, Trump achieved the opposite of his purpose in Iowa yesterday: instead of knocking Carson down, Trump diminished himself, perhaps irreparably.

Carson, the class act, when asked about Trump’s attack, said it made him sad because he likes Trump. Carson followed up urging people to pray for him.

Iowa voters aren’t so stupid after all.
