A Texas gun company is doing its part in the effort to take down ISIS.
In a press release, the company, TrackingPoint, said that it will be giving 10 of its state of the art rifles to “any organization that can take the guns into the fight against ISIS.”
TrackingPoint CEO John McHale stated: “It’s hard to sit back and watch what is happening over there. We want to do our part. Ten guns don’t sound like a lot but the dramatic leap in lethality is a great force multiplier. These ten guns will feel like two hundred to the enemy.”
The two rifles, the M600 SR and the M800 DMR, “utilize TrackingPoint’s new RapidLok™ Target Elimination Fire Control system to automatically acquire and eliminate enemy combatants.”
McHale stated that the gift of the rifles will “save countless lives and enable our soldiers to dominate enemy combatants including terrorists.”
M600SR is designed to replace the M4A1 and delivers an 87% “First-Shot-Success-Probability” out to 600 yards “regardless of shooter experience or skill.” This is approximately thirty times the first-shot-success-probability for the typical soldier using an M4A1.
The M800 DMR is designed to replace the M110 and M14 and delivers an even better first-shot-success-probability out to 800 yards, a much better first shot probability than today’s snipers have.
The press release features retired Colonel Tommy Gilmore describing the effectiveness of the weapons. He says: “I have shot several TrackingPoint PGFs, in fact I own one, and can say without reservation the TrackingPoint PGFs are by far the most lethal and accurate small-arms weapons platform ever designed and produced.”
The Rapid Lock system, in addition to automatically acquiring and tracking enemy targets, also helps eliminate error from shock, vibration, or environmental changes.
The rifles will begin shipping on December 5th to the U.S. military, U.S. organizations that can legally bring the fight against terrorism, and “qualified U.S. citizens.”
The M600SR costs $9,995, and the M800DMR costs $15,995.
Taya Kyle, Chris Kyle’s widow, will be using both guns at the American Sniper Shootout on December 5th in Mason, Texas.
What do you think of this company giving up their rifles for the fight against ISIS?
