An Mexican restaurant in Oregon has courted controversy with a new anti-Trump video featuring a child saying they want to “kill” Donald Trump while bashing a life-sized Trump piñata with a wooden bat. The video also shows adults claiming they want to end “hate” while simultaneously cursing and praying to Catholic icons for Trump’s demise.
The video was filmed during a celebration for the grand opening of an Oregon food cart company named El Diablito–or, “the little devil.” The main object of hate in the video was a Trump piñata with arms outstretched, flipping the finger.
A woman costumed in a sort of Aztec-styled traditional headdress appears on the video and says, “We want to break away the hate, we want to break away the anti-Muslim, the anti-people, anti-children, anti-immigrant feelings, all the racism, the stereotyping, all the anti-women. All the hate that he has in his heart.”
Then the woman thanks the Catholic icon the Virgin of Guadalupe before she and the others on the video ritually beat the piñata Donald Trump to death.
Adults aren’t the only ones who appear in the video enjoying Trump’s ritual death. The restaurant owners also invite children to participate in the bashing of the piñata.
In fact, one child yells out “I want to kill him!,” to which an adult is heard laughing and saying, “You want to kill him?”
Another woman steps up to bash Trump and is asked why she wants to do so. She responds, “Because f**k Trump,” but then apologizes for her language because there are children present.
Oddly, a man who may be the owner of the food truck enterprise then claimed that the hate displayed by his would be customers wasn’t about Trump and that they only picked the real estate mogul because he was the most popular candidate. It appears that, for this man, Trump was a stand in for every American and candidate who stands against illegal immigration.
Eventually the Trump piñata is totally destroyed–to “end the hate”–by adults and kids alike as whey wield a wooden bat striking the effigy over and over again.
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has himself courted controversy during this campaign by standing squarely against illegal immigration and his proposal to build a wall on our southern border. More recently, Trump caused extreme controversy by saying that in this era of global jihad the U.S. should put a pause on allowing Muslims to immigrate to the U.S. until the government finds an effective way to screen immigrants that may have ties to terrorism.
