(Before It's News)

(1888 PressRelease) When faced with the decision to accept a special needs dog into my home, I asked the question, “how hard can it be if you love them lots?”

In her new book, A Spot on My Heart, Kelly Artieri shares the heartwarming true story of her life with Vinnie, her bi-laterally deaf Dalmation.

“My name is Kelly. I own a Dalmatian named Vinnie who is deaf and has Pica and OCD. My family and I chose to accept the challenge of raising a special needs dog even though we had no experience before. We learned as we went.”

Learning to communicate without hearing can be a challenge. While learning to navigate the soundless world around him, Vinnie’s responses to his training were alternatively heartwarming and hilarious.

“Vinnie was full of life and ready to experience everything there was for him to learn and know. He showed us how to live in his world as we showed him how to live in ours. Our story tells of the joys we shared from knowing and loving him.”

In A Spot on My Heart, Kelly Artieri shares the challenges and rewards of living with and loving a special needs dog. The book is not a technical how-to manual, but instead is full of anecdotes and challenge-solving solutions that may be helpful to those who find themselves in the same situation. More importantly, A Spot on My Heart is a story of overcoming obstacles and never giving up. Everyone, two-legged or four, deserves a chance to live a life filled with love and acceptance.

As Artieri puts it, “Vinnie has made a spot in my heart and changed my life forever.”
