The Chinese ancients believed that the movement of planets influenced the fate of human lives, rather like the zodiac in Western culture.
There’s a folk saying in China: ’9 out of 10 sheep are incomplete.’
It means that people born in the Year of the Sheep will live an unhappy life, and 90% of them won’t have complete families.
It’s also said: “Women born in the Year of the Sheep have broken families and unfortunate lives.” Many Chinese people tend to believe the the sheep is an unlucky sign in the Chinese Zodiac.
For this reason, many Chinese couples who want a child plan for them to be born before the Year of the Sheep starts, or postpone their plans to avoid a Sheep baby. But is this really true?
Well, people’s fates aren’t necessarily linked to his or her zodiac sign. Whatever animal you may be, there are those who have a good life, and others who have a bad one.
Actually, according to traditional Chinese culture, the sheep is a sweet animal linked to many good things. For example, the Chinese characters “羊” (sheep) are part of “美” (beauty) and “祥” (auspicious).
There are also many well-known celebrities, both in the East and West, who were born in the Year of the Sheep. Let’s take a look…
First, the two IT giants—Steve Jobs and Bill Gates—were both Sheep babies. Can you imagine the digital world without them?
