(Before It's News)

This past week a mysterious fiery hole has opened up on the outskirts of Urumqi, in Northwest China, it has been nicknamed the gateway to hell. Geologists are left baffled, the underground inferno is so intense that when branches are placed near it they erupts into flames.  Although still uncertain , it is believed that spontaneous combustion has occurred. The area was a coal mine back in the 1970′s. A temperature reading of 729 degrees Celsius/ 1458 Fahrenheit was recorded at the site. Once a better understanding of what caused this was understood, authorities had the hole filled in out of fears the dangerous fumes could effect the locals.
