Observations from My Desk
I didn't really intend to write anything this morning, but I felt I had to make some kind of comment on both North Korea and Syria. The US seems to be moving to becoming a more isolationist nation, but in all honesty, this isn't where the American people seem to be. We want action instead of inaction, but at the same time, I think the American people want to co-operate with other nations in regard to both these nations including working with China to put pressure on the leadership of North Korea. But as for a more restrained foreign policy, the American people ARE war weary. We involved ourselves in Iraq with no credible results. And I think we desire diplomacy as opposed to warfare. This is where the American people are, but at this time, I can't predict what a President Trump will do or how he will act. His unpredictability makes the American people a little nervous while at the same time, making world leaders even more nervous.
I say this from the comfort of my desk. I don't wrestle with these issues, because I know that emotions of fear, hatred, and even anger unchecked can make people do what they otherwise wouldn't do. I don't see President Trump keeping these emotions under check. This is what makes him most unpredictable. It's going to take more sound minds in the White House to make sure the US doesn't do something we are going to regret having done. We are in a sense, living with this in regard to the Iraq War. But I don't know who in this government, other than the president's family, can sit down with him and reason out the options. I am not sure this president is a thinker, but relies mostly on his emotions. I would suggest that the world right now, needs world leaders who won't approach problems with rogue nations with emotional responses. The American people, I believe, are going to want all channels of diplomacy tried and believe that war is the response as being the very last resort. But in light of all this, I AM thinking to myself that God will make sure I am safe no matter where I am. This is why I won't build a survival bunker, nor will I second guess myself out of fear for my life. I will say what I feel NEEDS to be said and I will relax and let God do all the work.
Some problems in life have no answers. It all depends on what the leaders of ANY given country decide to do when it comes to making decisions about either diplomacy or war. BUT… And this is a VERY important “BUT,” do NOT fear. If you have NEVER intentionally taken the life of another human being, you have nothing to worry about. If we knew what heaven was like we would be falling all over ourselves trying to get in. Yes, there can be pain and suffering when facing death, but worrying about the afterlife can make even living without pain fearful. Let God worry about the big problems. All we need to worry about is whether we will choose to live in fear, or whether we let God worry for us. We can hate and live in anger, but if we let God take over for us, we don't have to live with those emotions either. Jesus has done all He can do to help His followers live as peaceful lives as is capable of anyone. So, from where I sit, I am NOT going to live in fear. My thinking is that I set the example for my Angels. Living my life any other way would make God a liar. I can't do that. I am Brother Ralphie writing for my Angels from The Angels of Life Institute.
