San Francisco to Los Angeles in 35 minutes for just $20. It sounds amazing, but is it too good to be true?
Not to Elon Musk it isn’t. The billionaire business magnate and SpaceX founder has unveiled his vision of the Hyperloop. The high-speed transport system would whiz passengers through hollow tubes at the speed of sound.
In a 57-page PDF file about the Hyperloop, Musk said that 12 engineers from SpaceX and Tesla had worked on the concept during the past 12 months as a “background task”.
In the report, Musk admits he devised the Hyperloop because of frustration of the inadequacies of California’s $8 billion high-speed rail project.
