‘Bills will rise by an average of 9.2pc, taking the typical annual dual fuel bill up by more than £120 to a record of £1,465.
Gas prices will jump by 8.4pc and electricity will rise by 10.2pc with the price increases taking effect from November 23, just one month before Christmas.
The supplier, part of the FTSE 100 company Centrica, raised household prices by 6.4pc last year, an increase of around £80 on household bills. It promised earlier this year to delay price increases this winter after making more than expected in the winter 2012-2013.’
