GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill are seeking to start a new, official war against Islamic State, known as the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF). Though the US has been fighting IS in a few countries, they’ve been doing so through a so-called “advise and assist” capacity. The last time an AUMF was issued was in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks. Former US diplomat Jim Jatras joins RT America’s Manila Chan to discuss.
